Use this opaque vinyl scale for full section or quarter section plotting. Scalings in Chains-Rods-Feet. Handy conversion table featured on front and back. Converts 16.5 feet up to 2640 Feet-Chains-Rods. 3 x 9 inches - scaled.

1in = 660 feet 1in = 330 feet
1in = 40 rods 1in = 20 rods
1in = 10 chains 1in = 5 chains

20-40 Scale

Quarter Section 1in = 400 feet
Quarter-Quarter Section 1in = 200 feet

 

The following area scales may be used for direct acreage readings from Aerial Survey Maps to 660feet to the inch. Agencies of the US Dept of Agriculture, Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Services (ASCS), Soil Conservation Service and many other governmental agencies use 660 scaling in their plotting.

A-11 Area Scale (above)

A 2"x 6-1/4" scale for quick plotting, detail drawing, estimating number of acres in a given irregular area, plus accurate measurement of land. Scaled 1" to 660', 8" to 1 mile, 1 sq inch to 10 acres

 

A-31 Area Scale

A 2-3/4"x 5" scale which performs like the A-11, but also includes an inch scale in tenths and a 1320 scale.

 

A-29 Area Scale

2-1/2"x 6-3/8" scale with the following calibrations:
1"=660'=1/8 mile dotted squares:
1"=1 rod 1 dot = .1 acre
1"=440'=1/2 mile 25 dots = 2.5

 

A-24-4 Square Area Scale

A Transparent four square land area scale offers a 160 acre grid to 660 scale. Represented are various blocks/shapes with their corresponding areas. Each 40 acre area is two inches square. Scales for chains, rods, and feet.
